when making a thread its best to actually write somthing in it*
anyway onto what i was going to say
it seems england will be following americas lead and moving onto gun crime soon, in the last few years there has been a massive rise in knife killings of 15-25 year olds
i guess when we are able to get guns easyier it will move from knifes to guns
right now 16 years old is the age to buy any knife here o_O (dunno what it is there)
in the last 3-4 weeks there has been like 5-10 killings that have been on the news :S so god knows how many go un-reported, also a few police have been shot dead recently to, which was very rare a few years ago

I've carried a knife almost daily since I was 13 and have never considered it a weapon. My current one is even a spring loaded assisted opener that can be opened in fractions of a second, does that mean I have to go stab someone?
As a tool, my knife is an essential piece of my wardrobe. It's used daily.
I have been shooting guns since I was 10 and owned since 12 (inheritance). I've never shot anyone.
Most people would probably call me a liberal and even _I_ think gun control is silly.. Knife control is just f**king stupid..
I can go into a hardware store and for less than a couple bucks fashion one of hundreds or thousands of "lethal weapons".
It's not the weapons we should be trying to stop, it's the criminals..

Agreed the 'weapons' don't make themselves dangerous. It's who is using them.

I also don't leave home w/o my knife. I'm actually not sure if there is a legal age here, lots of kids around here have knives.
I don't remember ever NOT owning a knife and gun.
Everytime I look at my pistol though, I just wanna KILL f**kers.

yeah but with english chav/bringe drinking culture.. a knife in the hand of a drunk looking for a fight is never a good thing we just had a national knife amnestey and 500 were handed in, from small flick knifes to machettes o_O http://www.flurl.com/item/stab_u_142194/this happened the other week the one in the green actually died and the other in the white who was stabbed several times managed to live they were just waiting for sombody to come pick them up and the 3 others were drunk apparently....

I fail to see how banning knives would solve that situation... They easilly could've beat the guys to death...or used a pair of scissors...or a screwdriver.....or any other fashioned weapon.. Idiots are idiots, taking "weapons" away from the general public is not going to solve that..

i have 2 hunting knives, and 2 rifles sitting beside me in my room, not to mention a bow and arrows in my basement, i have never even imagines hurting anybody with them. people are defintly the problems, the more weapons the gorverment take away, the more painfull it will be for the victom
