heres the good bit

"If a customer has an issue indicated by the three flashing red lights, Microsoft will repair the console free of charge—including shipping—for three years from the console’s purchase date. We will also retroactively reimburse any of you who paid for repairs related to problems indicated by this error message in the past."

Yeah my co-worker just had that problem fixed on his Xbox and he only had to pay for shipping. I believe it is a heat corruption type problem

they also pay for shipping now too, plus you can get refunds if you had to pay...
 
for me, this came as good news, as i have 2 xbox's and one has been giving me some problems lately, and its the one that is past the 1 year old warranty date. im sure its going to pass out soon enough, ive gotten 1 red blinking light sometimes when i turn it on, and evrething is connected perfecly, so the harware is about to go i think

i've lost all my respect for xbox.   My xbox is dead and so are my friends.  My one buddy will be sending his back for a 4th time now.    the 360 was either rushed and not researched properly or they have junk parts in them.  I mean everybody i know has had a faulty xbox.    The console is dead to me.

sure, call it dead even after they step up and say 'where sorry, we know we f*cked up bigtime, we will pay to fix evrething and pay any money you payed back'

 
show the link to your buddies at least, they will get whatever they payed back.
