I need to help some friends buy a pre-built PC because their PC completely died the other day (something on the motherboard exploded and ruined EVERYTHING). I'm not too sure where to go for getting a pre-built system though. They don't want a space age PC case, nothing gay like that.

Looking to spend under $1,000, and building the system for them from parts is not an option.

Any ideas?

as much as i hate to say it, Dell is one of the better pre-build company's to buy from.

although i don't have one myself, i hear from people that do that they are good quality computers, and that their support is actually pretty helpful.

but as far as pre-build comps go, dont expect too much no matter who you go with.

I ended up piecing together a system from Newegg for them. After looking at the different vendors it was just too much of a rip-off to buy from them.

For anyone that I have any day to day, week to week, or even month to month association with, the price premium is worth them having a support number to call rather than me.
